Vanessa S. Perlman
Vanessa S. Perlman is an attorney and policy advisor in Jolley Law Group’s Washington, DC office, where she focuses on corporate and nonprofit governance, commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, and other transactional matters for health industry clients.
With experience in the public and private sectors, Vanessa has established a robust record of successfully representing clients, developing strategic partnerships, and negotiating complex arrangements. An innovative problem-solver and a natural consensus-builder, she brings a deep commitment to helping her clients meet and exceed their objectives.
In private practice in Atlanta, she has represented health care, life sciences, and energy sector clients on a wide range of corporate, financial compliance, and regulatory matters. For instance, she helped a biotechnology firm establish subsidiaries and distribution networks throughout Europe. As in-house counsel for an international pharmaceutical company, she advised her clients on contract and regulatory compliance, corporate governance, strategic planning, alliance management, and other legal and business issues. In particular, she worked closely with the company’s supply chain, business development, and commercialization teams, and she drafted, negotiated, and oversaw the implementation of numerous complex commercial agreements.
In addition to her corporate law practice, Vanessa is an advisor on global health law and policy matters, with a particular focus on global health governance and diplomacy, international trade law, international intellectual property policy, and access to medicines. She advises policymakers on strategic approaches to global health policy challenges, provides analysis of existing and proposed legal instruments (such as free trade agreements), and conducts trainings on global health law issues. She has worked for such organizations as the World Health Organization in Geneva and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in Washington, DC.
Vanessa is a member of the Advisory Board for The Intuitive Writing Project, Inc., an educational nonprofit organization in the California Bay Area. She is also a 2010 graduate of Pathbuilders ACHIEVA, an executive development program for women in business.
